The contents of the record were selected for NASA by a committee chaired by Carl Sagan of Cornell University. “Due to copyright restrictions, only a subset of the images on the Golden Record are displayed“. It is important to comply with the laws, but I really feel that all information representing humanity that was sent into space should be in the public domain for all of humanity to see and use.
