Have you seen how small we are compared to our solar system’s star, the sun? You probably have, but have you seen how small our sun is compared to the largest known star (so far) in the universe? VY Canis Majoris is amazingly large.
What if the largest star known was in our solar system? Here’s a video that gives an example.
If the hypergiant VY Canis Majoris, roughly 4,000 light years from earth, was moved into our solar system it would engulf everything in our solar system up to the orbit of the planet Jupiter. Of what practical value is knowing this? Some day you will understand. 😉
