Have you ever seen a wild horse attack an alligator? It seems like a territorial spat more than anything, with the horse saying, “A little too close to my family,” and then the alligator saying, “Got the message the first time, back off or you’ll regret it.”
This is the wild moment a horse attacks an alligator at a state park in Florida.
Video shows the horse grazing on grass with its herd at Paynes Prairie, a state park near Gainesville, before it becomes agitated and uses its front hooves to pounce on the nearby gator.
The equine then strikes a second time — but the gator snaps back in defense, appearing to bite its leg.
The horse takes off to rejoin its pals as the reptile slithers back into the weeds.
The video was captured by Krystal M. Berry, who posted it on Facebook on Wednesday.
“Horse attacking a gator at Paynes Prairie,” she wrote. “I’m still shaking.”
Berry wrote that she checked with the park on the condition of both animals and neither appeared injured.
